Ronald James LaBounty 

Ron peacefully passed away Monday, April 11, 2022. Ron was born April 9, 1947 in Burlington,
VT to Walter and Theresa (Bezio) LaBounty.

After graduating from South Burlington High School Ron attended and graduated from
Champlain College. Ron attended Vermont Technical College for one year and was then
drafted into the Army. He served in Vietnam and returned home with honors and various
medals; one a CIB medal and a Bronze Star. Ron was very proud of his service to his country.

Following his military service Ron married Mary Ann Kirby from Burlington, VT and together they had two children, a son Eric and a daughter Kristin. Together with his second wife Nancy
Carrera Acker from Rutland, VT he raised two more children, his step-son Jason Sherman and
his step-daughter Kristina Acker.

Ron was a very successful business man in Vermont. He had a contracting business with his
partner Henry S. Coon and a Tile business with his son Jason.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Walter and Theresa and his much loved sister Sandra
Coon. He is survived by his longtime partner of 25 years Laurie Farrell and her children
Tommy, Kelley, Ronnie and their partners, his brother Walter Richard and wife Mary and their children Shawn and Rhonda and their partners; his sister Christine Palmer and husband Alan and their children Spencer, Shannon, Tanner, Travis, and their partners; his brother Gary and his partner Sharon; his son Eric, daughter Kristin; step-son Jason, step-daughter Kristina and their partners; his brother-in-law Henry S. Coon Jr. and daughter Kim and her partner. He also leaves his “Buddies” at the Eagles Club and his many golf partners.
Ron loved playing golf and spending time with the people he loved. If you knew Ron you loved him.

We would like to thank Ron’s Oncology caregivers, Dr. Steve Ades and Penny Gibson, and all
the “Angels” at the Respite House in Colchester that helped Ron make his transition. We are so
grateful to all of them.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Park Catholic Cemetery, Hinesburg Road, South Burlington, VT.

Arrangements are in care of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Jct., VT.
