Paula Avery Mayhue
Paula Avery Mayhue, 58, of Burlington, Vermont, passed away on Sunday, August 1,
2021, following her long battle with cancer. Paula was born in Burlington, Vermont, on
November 28, 1962. She was the daughter of Harold Avery and Lois Johnson. Paula graduated from
Burlington High School in 1980 and continued her education at Champlain College with
an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education graduating in 1982.
She met the love of her life and married her best friend, Keith Mayhue, on September 3, 1983. Paula
worked in a couple various roles including Service Merchandise and Saint Joseph School. She
loved to travel, do puzzles, sew blankets and pillow cases, watch wildlife (especially birds, deer, turtles and dolphins), go out on the boat and put her toes in the sand. Family meant the world to Paula with six grandchildren ranging from ages 16 to 5.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; children Chris Mayhue and Jenn Whitby, both of Essex
Junction, Vermont; her loving grandchildren Wyatt (16), Avery (10), Alexander (9), Riley
(8), Kassandra (6) and Zachary (5) who will be in her heart forever; sisters Patsy
Chamberlain, Penni Avery, Pam Avery and Pris Cheeseman along with their children
and grandchildren’s memories will always be with her.
A service in Paula’s honor will take place at the Essex Alliance Church, 37 Old Stage Road, Essex, Vermont, on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. Please find more information regarding a celebration at https://paula-avery-mayhue.yolasite.com/
