Patricia Ann Mead
Hinesburg - Patricia Ann Mead — affectionately known as "Broomie" — was born in New York City on June 7, 1937, and no matter where she went, she always brought her New York City attitude with her. She had a signature sense of style and loved to spend all year shopping for the perfect Christmas gifts. She was an avid reader who loved traveling, casinos, and her ticket buddies at Bucky's. She had many special friends, near and far.
She passed away peacefully with her husband, Douglas, at her side on August 4, 2021, at the age of 84. She was the best Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother anyone could ask for; she will be missed sorely, but forever remembered with warmth and fondness.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Grace McCarthy; and her beloved cousin, Howard V. Lee, who received a Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War.
She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Mead; and her two wonderful families blended together 34 years ago, with 10 children: Michael, Glenn, Victoria (Chris), Leann, Cam (Mandy), David (Beth), Bill (Rhonda), Mary (Jen), Jim (Deb), and Pat (Ed). She also leaves 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; including her best friend, Genevieve.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at St. Jude Church in Hinesburg from 12 - 3 pm.
Flowers are welcomed and donations in her memory to COTS and Camp Ta-Kum-Ta are appreciated.
