Maureen Rolfe Kelly, 86 of Waterbury, VT passed away peacefully on October 7, 2021, at home. Maureen was born May 10, 1935, in Burlington to Henry and Alice (Parmalee) Rolfe.  After graduation from Burlington High School, Maureen received a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston’s Wheelock College and returned to the Burlington area to teach kindergarten.  In 1958, she met and married Albert (Al) Kelly, Jr. a student at St. Michael’s College.  Other than a 2-year stay in Foxboro, Massachusetts from 1961 to 1963 Maureen and Al settled in Waterbury and raised 9 children.   Even with the demands of a large family, Maureen was an early Tupperware dealer, the local Head Start program manager for Waterbury and surrounding towns, and a regular volunteer at the Waterbury and Montpelier Public Libraries.  A steadfast supporter of the arts and Vermont history, Maureen was for many years a volunteer for the Mozart Festival at Shelburne farms and the Vermont Historical Society Museum.  Preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, her parents, four brothers:  John, Dan, Burt and Hugh Rolfe; a sister: Joyce Barron, and granddaughter Gabrielle Callan, Maureen is survived by her son: Albert Dunstan Kelly III; 8 daughters: Donna Snellings, Colleen Kelly, Vonda Smith, Evleen Kelly, Gena Callan, Polleen Larkin, Burta Kelly, and Tyleen Kelly; 21 grandchildren: Awa Aida and Ibrahim Jobe; Breard and Satchie Snellings; Brendan, Isaiah, Grace, Joseph, Amaris, Reuben, Tobias, Miriam, Laural, and Gianna Callan; Simon and James Kiehl; Andrew and Timothy Rowekamp; Xann, Zyleen and Yarr Tyler; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Services will be held Monday, October 18 at 10 am graveside at Pine Hill Cemetery, Route 7, Brandon, Vermont in the Rolfe Family plot.
