Louis Urban 81, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully at Springfield Rivers Nursing Home on December 18, 2021.
He was a very talented man, as he built beautiful fireplaces, served in the army for over 40 years and when he retired he was security for LCT Transportation. He always had to keep himself busy.
He was born in Tatabanya, Hungary and came to the USA through Ellis Island in January 1957. He traveled the states until he landed in Vermont. This is where he met the love of his life and settled down. He married Nancy Hubbard and had 3 children. He joined the Vermont Army National Guard 86th field artillery battalion which he spent 40 plus years serving his country retiring as a Master Sergeant. He spent many years doing what he loved, meeting and training all you young men. You were like his kids to him, and he took pride in everything you did and what you became. Thank you for giving him lots of laughs and memories.
Louis will be remembered for many things, but his pride and joy was his family; Lesley Urban and children, Lesley , Joshua, Danielle and Ben Urban; Lonny Urban and his wife Nicha and his children Lorianne , Landon, and Loren Urban, and Leanna Urban Aldrich and husband Chris Aldrich and their children Jessica Deyo and husband Jeremy Deyo, Bryant and Emily Aldrich; and many great grandkids.
He so enjoyed spending time with them and spoiling them and his family and friends in Hungary, he so loved you all and wished you were closer to him.
We would like to thank Baird 4 staff for the months of love and support you gave our dad, and also Springfield Rivers Nursing Home for everything you did for him and supporting us at the end. You all are in our hearts forever. God bless you and what you do.
A graveside service will be at East Cemetery in Williston, VT on May 31, 2022 (his birthday) at 11:00 am. There will be a luncheon after the services to celebrate his life at the Williston armory in Williston.
