Jessie Anne Giroux
On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, Jessie Anne Giroux (Ouimette) went home to her heavenly father. Jessie grew up on the farm at 602 North Avenue in Burlington, the daughter of the late Raymond Ouimette, Sr. and Ellen Liberty. She was raised with a strong foundation in the Catholic faith that she continued throughout her life’s journey. At the age of 26 she started her own family and by the age of 33 she found herself raising two little girls on her own. Her children and faith were her life.
She was employed at the City of Burlington, City Hall as a switchboard operator, worked at St. Joseph’s Rectory, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and finally at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. It was at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception she met the love of her life, best friend and soulmate, Roger A. Giroux; she in the Rectory and he in the Church. What started as a beautiful friendship turned into a lifetime of love and commitment, each embracing and combining the two families as one; she loved and cared for all. She was kind, funny, and the most selfless person you would ever meet. She prayed for everyone and only wished good things for all.
Jessie leaves behind her beloved husband and soulmate Roger A. Giroux; daughters Barbara Poirier, Joanne Putzier and husband Tony; grandchildren Nicole Poirier, Corey Bessette, Jakobe Putzier, Brooke Putzier and Aleisha Castro-Poirier; stepchildren Roger Giroux Jr. and Terry and daughter Jen, Richard Giroux and Amanda and sons, Ricky, Joey and Jimmy, Pam Provost and sons Keith and Keenan. A special son Carl Albarelli and Jessie’s partner in crime, Veronica.
Jessie was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Ellen; her two brothers Raymond Jr. and Thomas Ouimette; her beloved grandson Austin Michael Putzier and stepson Robert (Bobby) Giroux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be private and celebrated at the convenience of the family.
