Gladys M. Cook
Our dear beloved mom, Gladys (Duclos) (Garvey) Cook, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester surrounded by her children. She was born in Bristol, VT on May 12, 1929, the daughter of Esdram and Alfretta (Griggs) Duclos.
Gladys enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting and sewing, puzzles and flowers of all kinds. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Burlington, VT.
She is survived by her children; sons Larry (Sharron) Garvey, Gerald (Leslie) Garvey, James Garvey, and Allan (Stephanie) Garvey; daughters Sharon (Thomas) Shatney, Darlene (Warren) Vallone, and Cherie (Peter) Pike. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; her sister and brother in-law Theresa and Joseph Pickering
Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Wendell Cook in 1988, her sister Marjorie Fenner and brother Joseph Duclos.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm, at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Chapel, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Junction, VT.
