Dorothy Nellie Larmay
Dorothy Nellie Larmay 106, passed away on June 28, 2021, at Birchwood Terrace in Burlington.
Dorothy was born on February 25, 1915, in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of LeRoy Clark and Clyde (Moulton) Clark.
As the third child of a carpenter, she grew up in many parts of Vermon. The family eventually settled in Burlington, where she met the love of her life Colixte J. “Dick” Larmay. Dorothy only made it to the 7th grade as she dropped out of school to stay home and take care of her mother. Her first job was at the Woolen Mill in Winooski. From there she went on to work as a seamstress at the sewing factory for many years.
She married Colixte on November 9, 1932, in Westport, NY. During their marriage she had many interests; cooking, crocheting and sewing clothes for her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Moulton (Susan) Larmay of Colchester and Betty Carrier of Milton; her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Leroy and Clyde Clark; husband Colixte Larmay; brothers, Leroy Clark and Moulton Clark; son, LeRoy Larmay; daughter, Marilyn Larmay, and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visiting hours will be held at Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Junction, on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, from 5-7pm. A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, 455 North Avenue, Burlington, on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11am.
