John Franics Moshier
Essex Junction, VT
John Francis Moshier, 75, of Essex Junction, went to be with his Savior and families on August 29, 2019. He passed away unexpectedly at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. John was born on November 3, 1943 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the son of Egbart James and Charlotte Rose Moshier.
John attended St. Peter’s Roman Catholic school and in later years moved to Essex Center, VT and graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1961. He worked at IBM and received his associates degree in Endicott, NY through an IBM school program in tool making. After 37 years of employment, John retired.
John entered the military as a proud marine and later was a longtime member of the VT National Guard retiring after 37 years of military service. His name appears on a military plaque on the large granite monument in Essex Junction at the village square.
John was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying almost as much as he did sailing on Lake Champlain with his family. He enjoyed making furniture and was a member of the local rifle club.
John loved his family and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren Sierra and Dustin; they had many adventures together. He loved gardening and helping his wife Debbie in her flower gardens. John enjoyed fishing and skiing. He loved his neighbors as much as they loved him. John loved playing with his two Yorkies Phinny and Gigi.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his wife Deborah; daughter Chrissy Moshier; daughter Heather Salter and her partner Ronald Varney and her children Sierra and Dustin Salter; son Michael Densmore, Jr. and his son Xander; sister-in-law Cindy Atherton and her husband Donald and their children and grandchildren; sister-in-law Tami Menard and her husband Victor and their children and grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Patricia St. Amour and her husband George and their children Brian St. Amour and his wife Tricia and their children; Brad St. Amour and his wife Marcia and their children; Bruce St. Amour and his partner Ira Flateman. Also surviving is his brother Jerry Sampere and his wife Candice and their children; his brother Matthew Moshier and his wife Laurie and their children. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
John was predeceased by his father and mother, both of Poughkeepsie, NY and son, Kirk Moshier.
John loved life to the fullest and included everyone who was around him. John’s message to the world would be “love one another as I have loved you. Always stay positive even through difficult times, always understand and bond together.”
A graveside service is will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Mountain View Cemetery, Sandhill Road, Essex Center.
