Janett A. Bothwell
Janett A. (McDurfee) Bothwell, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday Feb.25th at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester surrounded by her family and friends after her battle with cancer.
Janett was born Dec 11th, 1938 to Alice and Howard McDurfee of Charlotte. She worked as a book keeper for Merriam Graves and LinCare. After retirement she spent her time caring for her family and extended family. She enjoyed making holiday cards with and for her family and friends. She loved collecting recipes from the internet and making them for family. Every Christmas Janet would make her special chocolate and peanut butter fudge that everyone loves. Oh and don’t forget her homemade caramel sauce that you could catch her kids eating by the spoon full.
Janett was predeceased by her parents Howard and Alice McDurfee of Charlotte, her brother Bud McDurfee of Arizona, her sister Loraine Moureau of Charlotte, and her son James Bothwell III of Charlotte. Janett leaves behind her sister Diane Bernard and husband Mark of Swanton, her daughter Peggy Root and husband Wayne of Swanton, her son Kevin Bothwell and wife Sheila of Charlotte, her daughter Loralyn Bothwell and fiancé John McCaffrey of Monkton, Her son Brian Bothwell and wife Christy of Colchester, her grandson and caregiver Philip Bothwell of Charlotte, her son Dillion Bothwell of Charlotte, her son Damion Bothwell of Charlotte, her daughter Kayla Bothwell of Charlotte, and son Keagan of Charlotte. She also leaves behinds her grandchildren Seth, Melissa, Amanda, Chris, Jennifer, Tia, Brandon, Zachary. Her Great Grandchildren Lucas, Lilly, Colin, Ava, Jorja, Brian, Tanner, Alice, and Wesley. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family/friends. A special thank you to Jodie, Liz, Misty, and Nurse Ratchet (Val) for all your support.
The family would like to thank the staff, nurses, LNA’s, and all the volunteers at the McClure Miller Respite House for their great care that made her final days comfortable and peaceful.
Services will be held Saturday March 2nd at 11am at Our lady of Mt. Caramel Catholic Church in Charlotte VT. A luncheon will follow the services.
