Francys C. Garrett, age 107, passed away on January 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Bartlett, TN.
She was born September 1, 1910 in Charlotte, VT to John and Jennie Lucier. She was one of twelve children.
Francys was pre-deceased by her husband of 57 years, Mr. Stanley J. Garrett. She was the mother of four children; Stanley L. Garrett (Joan), James A. Garrett (Anita), Joan C. Montani (Jerry) and Patricia A. Qualls (Larry). Also, a proud grandmother to 11 , great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was a foster mother to 54 children, 25 year volunteer for RSVP, delivered the Burlington Free Press for 18 years at her senior residence and a devoted member of St. Joseph Church, Burlington, VT. Her joy was her family, crafting and serving others at her residence, 3 Cathedral Square in Burlington, where she lived for 27 years.
The past ten years Francys lived in Tennessee with family. While there she celebrated her 100th birthday with a party and family from all over the states. She received a special certificate from the Pope which she cherished.
Francys Garrett, our Mom and Grandma will be greatly missed by us and everyone whose life she touched and cared for over the years. We love her so very much. She was an amazing lady.
A Mass in celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be announced.
