Beatrice Beverly (Jimmo) Moore
Beatrice “Bea” Moore, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 20 at Starr Farm Nursing Center.
Bea was born on January 20, 1936 in Plainfield, VT the only child to the late Carrol and Iris (Wooster) Jimmo.
She graduated from Burlington High School in 1954. In December 1960, she married Harold Cross who predeceased her in August 1966. On July 29, 1968 she married James Moore Jr. and had 2 daughters.
She was employed by General Electric and later by New England Telephone Company. In the 1980’s, she went to work at Zayre Department Store and then worked for Marriott at IBM until retirement.
She enjoyed playing Triple Yahtzee marathons, bingo, crocheting, knitting, and gardening. She loved animals and wanted to do what she could to help animals in shelters.
Bea is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Mathieu and fiancée Chris Burnett of South Hero, VT; Tina Barnes and husband Rob of Williston, VT; and Sue Locke of Florida. Granddaughters, Shannon Mathieu and her significant other Luc Fecteau of Sheldon, VT their children, Brandon, Cullen and Leland and Ann Ash and her husband Nick of Florida and their children. Special 4-legged grand pets, Auggie and Chessie. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-laws: Dick and Carol Moore, Rebecca Moore, Walter Cross, Wanda Tinker, Shirley and Francis Parrott, and John and Eleanor Cross and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by James Moore Jr., Sister and brother-in-laws Betty Cross, Barb Cross, Raymond and Eunice Cross, Roy Tinker, and niece Darlene Moquin.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Starr Farm Nursing Center for taking great care of Bea over the years. Also, a thank you to Bayada Health Care Nursing and Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 12 to 2pm at Corbin and Palmer, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Junction followed by a memorial service at 2pm. Reception to follow at the VFW, 73 Pearl St, Essex Junction. Burial will be at a later date in the spring.
