Shelburne - Marina Hull, age 84, died on February 11, 2018 at The Arbors in Shelburne, Vermont, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born on August 10, 1933 in Zaragoza, Spain, she was the daughter of Julio and Isabel Torres. She grew up in Zaragoza with her parents and three brothers. She met her future husband, Arthur Hull, while he was working in Spain. They met and fell in love, and they were married on May 14, 1955. Arthur was the love of her life and the couple embarked on their life's journey together. They first lived in Zaragoza and enjoyed spending time with Marina's family and their friends. After their first son was born, the couple decided to move to the United States to raise their family.
They eventually settled in Montpelier, Vermont, where they lived for the next 56 years. Marina devoted herself to raising her three beloved children. She loved life and enjoyed numerous remodeling projects, gardening, cooking and painting. She had exquisite taste and an eye for details that made her home beautiful and welcoming. The family spent many happy times together, enjoying each other's company, skiing, painting, and hiking. After her husband retired, the couple enjoyed many years traveling to different places around the world.
In 2014, Marina moved to The Arbors in Shelburne, Vermont where she received the best of care from The Arbors' incredible staff. Marina's family will be forever grateful for the thoughtful, patient and loving care she received during her years at The Arbors. Marina's husband, Arthur, remained devoted to her, visiting regularly.
Marina is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Hull of South Burlington, Vermont; her brothers Jose Torres and his wife, Dora, and Fernando Torres and his wife, Aurora; her three children Charles and his wife, Anne Marie, Christopher Bradshaw-Hull and his wife, Lynn and Rosemary Gretkowski and her husband, Michael; her grandchildren Katie, Charlotte, Daniel and Alexander and her great grandchildren Nathan, Landon and Jaxson. She was predeceased by her brother Julio, his wife Carmen and their oldest son, Julio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the St. Catherine of Siena Church, 72 Church Street, Shelburne, Vermont.
