Lynwood "Ozzie" Miles Osborne

Surrounded by his loving family, Lynwood "Ozzie" Miles Osborne passed away peacefully in the home where he was born, November 22, 1932. He was one of four children of the late Pearl and Ada Osborne. Ozzie was 84 years old.
He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. When he returned he married the love of his life, Thelma Mae Larrow. He worked for IBM for 35 years and was among the first 50 employees hired at the Essex Junction, Vermont, facility.
Ozzie was an active member in the Williston Fire Department for 60 years, holding many positions including Assistant Chief. During his fire services career, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Vermont State Firefighters Association, and commendations from Senator Patrick Leahy, Congressman James Jeffords, Governors Douglas and Shumin, and had the honor of meeting President George Bush. Ozzie was granted Chief Emeritus for life as one of longest serving fireman in the State of Vermont.
Ozzie is survived by his wife, Thelma of Williston, their sons, Steve Osborne and his wife Pamela of Williston, Gregory Osborne and his wife, Kimberly of Bridgewater Massachusetts, and Bryan Osborne and his wife, Jean, of Colchester, his grandchildren, Kathryn Forleo, Eric, Brittney, Lea, Justin, Colton, and Evan Osborne and great grandchildren, Myles and Mia Forleo.
Viewing hours will be 4-7pm, Tuesday, August 1st at Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home at 9 Pleasant St. Essex Junction. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at 10:00 am at the Williston Federated Church 44 North Williston Rd. Williston Vt. 05495.
